Since its inception in 1999, Musicians On Call has piloted numerous programs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, including room to room live performances and music lessons by both regionally and nationally-known musicians, instrument donations for patient use, multimedia libraries, and special interactive music projects with individual patients. Each of these programs is aimed at using music and entertainment to create a better living and healing environment for patients and their loved ones. While the program was launched in New York City, it's goal is to first expand regionally into other healthcare facilities (including hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, psychiatric facilities, etc.), then nationally and in time, internationally.

Musicians On Call is Supported by Artists
The majority of musician volunteers are developing artists who lend their time and compassion. And many projects are funded by major artists, who donate front row tickets and backstage passes to their shows, which Musicians On Call auctions online. These artists run across the music spectrum: from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to Britney Spears to The Who.
