It is the worst possible time for the Indian opposition BJP. After being swept in the general parliamentary elections earlier this year, now it is its own members against the party leaders. This time the turn was of senior party leader Arun Shourie who commented rudely over party’s decision-making and its leadership. He hit out at the leadership of party president Rajnath Singh and termed him as ‘Alice in Blunderland’.

Further, he also quoted BJP to be like a ‘Kati Patang’ (adrift kite) and needed somebody to take over and get the party on the right track. He was found stating, “Unless it is got hold of swiftly by (referring to kati patang), I don't see people within the party who now have such authority, if anybody can do it, it is only the RSS.”

He later told reporters that like once Mao Ze Dong had said, "Bombard the headquarters. Clean up everybody from the top. Bring ten-fifteen people from the states who are competent, honest and dedicated and reconstruct immediately."

These comments came from him while in an interview to a private news channel.

He also found the removal of Vasundhra Raje, and Khanduri, to be unjustly wrong.

Moreover, he too said, in same vein, expelling Jaswant Singh off the party was also wrong.

The statements made by the senior leader are taken gravely serious by the party top brass. And, if the sources are to be believed, Arun Shourie, too could be expelled off the party as Jaswant Singh.

The BJP and its leaders have encircled the media these days. It was the expulsion of Jaswant Singh that started the hype. It was soon followed by the resignation of top Advani aide, Sudheendra Kulkarni, and the latter followed by Raje and Khanduri sacking and later the Shourie Comments today.
